Janet is drawn to the ordinary and captivated by colour and beauty.
The rhythms of everyday life seep into her imagery and creative process, whether the visual motive emerges from her travels or the immediacy of the daily world around her.
As a visual artist, she makes use of various materials. Her love of painting, photography and collage come together with acrylic paints, photographs, hand-painted Japanese Washi paper, oil pastels, pencils, charcoal, pens and materials from nature.
Though the subject matter of her work varies, colour remains a constant theme. Janet prizes colour for its powerful symbolism and employs it to communicate emotion and mood.
Janet is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Many of her pieces have been accepted in juried exhibitions.
Her work resides with many private collectors throughout Canada, United States, France and Switzerland.
