WELCOME TO GAGE GALLERY

Gage Gallery Artists Collective

The Gage Gallery is a beautiful gem situated in the heart of Victoria, British Columbia.

We are 22 local contemporary artists dedicated to creating an inspiring venue where we exhibit and sell our artwork as well as engage with community in meaningful ways around art and culture.

With rotating solo and group exhibitions mounted every three weeks in our Main Gallery, there is always something new and exciting to discover. Our styles range from vivid abstraction to expressive representation, west coast landscape painting to sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and more. Our member gallery features an array of paintings and sculptures by collective members along with prints and art cards at very affordable prices.  A special “Gage” bonus:  there is always an artist present to chat with you. Admission is always free!

HOURS: Tuesday – Sunday 11-5

Upcoming Exhibition

Light Reigns – Shadows Rule

Light Reigns, Shadows Rule. Three artists; three approaches to shedding light on the theme of shadows through photography. Anne McCarthy bends, blends and enriches her photographs with digital manipulation and hand-painted additions to expose shadows that are real, imagined and sometimes stretched to abstraction. Clare Palmer has an eye for coaxing overlooked subjects out of the shadows. Her subtly engaging shadows are raw, unedited and meant to be taken as she saw them. Ron Charles uses vintage cameras and age-old techniques to bring shadows to large format sheet film, glass dry plates, and rare long-expired darkroom paper. Donations will be accepted to support Rainbow Haven, which operates safe houses abroad for LGBTQ+ asylum seekers forced to live in the shadows while awaiting resettlement after fleeing persecution from anti-gay laws that threaten imprisonment and death in their home countries. Reception Nov 21st from 3-6 pm Artists talk Nov 24th from 1-3pm
